Travel: Shopping Guide - Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

$

0

Hong Kong is one of my favourite cities for shopping because there are always new, interesting spots worth exploring regardless of the number of times you've stepped foot there. On my recent trip to Hong Kong last year with Yitian, we chose to stay in Sheung Wan, home to streets after streets of antiques, curiosities, vintage fashion, independent fashion labels and cafes.

Sheung Wan is like a maze with gems hidden in every nook and cranny, reminiscent of a less commercialized version of Venice. There are new discoveries down every alley, with pleasant surprises at every turn. Aside from shopping, the beautiful street art and wall murals also make excellent photography backdrops. Say hello to more OOTD shots!

In today's post, shopping will take centerstage and you'll find out what are some of the interesting knick knacks that can be found in this treasure trove of a precinct.

1. Antiques, Art and Vintage Collectibles

If you love antiques and collectible items, Sheung Wan is the place to be. You will find interesting second-hand Chinese memorabilia and other curiosities at the make-shift street stalls lining Upper Lascar Row (Cat Street)

If you prefer to visit actual art galleries and antique shops, head on to Hollywood Road (Antique Street), where you will be greeted by a variety of paintings, vases, statues, artworks and collectibles (some may be replicas) from a bygone era. If you're thinking of sprucing up your home decor, be sure to check out these quaint little shops for some quirky finds.

2. Vintage Fashion

Taking the road less traveled has always been one of my mantras in life, and the same goes for my take on fashion. That is one of the reasons why I've always found vintage fashion appealing. Checking out vintage stores in Hong Kong may not have been on our cards, but it found its way into our itinerary thanks to some chance encounters.

On our way to breakfast one morning, we came across Select-18. It's easy to mistake it for a hardware store, but don't be fooled by its visage. Within the store lies an amazing selection of vintage accessories, bags, collectibles and eyewear.

I especially adore their collection of vintage miniature perfume bottle accessories. If you follow me on instagram (@reginachow_sg), you may have seen these gorgeous trinklets which I bought as gifts for my girlfriends (and myself too!).

Bang! Bang! 70sis another vintage store that we chanced upon as we walked down Aberdeen Street. Located on the second floor of a non-descript shophouse, you have to ring a bell before the gate opens to reveal a flight of stairs leading up to the store, which offers a wide variety of vintage designer apparel, bags, shoes and the likes.

3. Independent Fashion Stores

Aberdeen Street is where most of the independent fashion stores are located. We easily spent an entire afternoon just browsing through the multitude of fashion labels and trying on everything that they had to offer.

One of our favourite shops is Mushroom, where you'll find intricate accessories, homeware and beautiful dried flowers with an unmistakable old-world charm. Stepping into the shop instantly transports you into a magical fairy-tale world where fairies, pixies and unicorns come alive.

I was particularly attracted to their exquisite selection of whimsical accessories inspired by Alice in Wonderland, folk lore and ballerinas. I felt like a child once again.

Mushroom has 3 branches in Hong Kong, namely in Aberdeen Street, New Town Plaza in Shatin and Millenium City 5 in Kwun Tong Road.

A row of multi-label fashion retailers can be found on the opposite side of Aberdeen Street. ABoutique, my new found favourite multi-label retailer introduced by a friend from Hong Kong, is literally just a hop and skip away.

ABoutique stocks an exclusive selection from designers such as Frame Denim, Alice by Temperly, Camilla & Marc, House of Holland, finderskeepers, keepsake the label, among others. These labels may be readily available at e-retailers such as Shopbop, Revolve Clothing and Net-a-porter, but being able to try on these labels at ABoutique makes such a difference.

I eventually walked away with two pairs of skinny jeans from Frame Denim, some of the comfiest jeans I own to date. In fact, they're so comfortable, you'll feel like you're wearing next to nothing. I'm convinced that my wardrobe needs more of these!

Sheung Wan left such a deep impression on me and I would love to share every facet about this amazingplacein time to come. If there are other shops in Sheung Wan that you would highly recommend, do let me know!

Beauty: Shiseido Aqualabel Special Gel Cream Review

$

I'm always excited to try new skincare products, especially gel-based skincare products which glide on smoothly without any greasy after-feel. Shiseido's Aqualabel Special Gel Cream, winner of Women's Weekly "Best Beauty Buys 2014", is one such product that I have been intending to review.

I finally took the tub of goodness out of its box and incorporated it into my skincare routine about 2 weeks ago, and I can safely say that it works well on my skin which is oily on the surface and dehydrated beneath.

What I love about Shiseido's Aqualabel Special Gel Cream is its velvety soft jelly-like texture which feels featherlight on my skin and yet locks in moisture at the same time.

Multi-tasking 5-in-1 Gel Cream

A multi-tasking 5 in 1 gel cream that contains a high concentration of collagen with double hyaluronic acid and can be used as a lotion (toner), emulsion, essence, cream and mask all at once, it gives you more bang for your buck than your average moisturizer in the market.

Powered by Aqualabel's exclusive Aqua Synergy technology, the special gel cream penetrates deeper into your skin to deliver moisture and fight signs of aging, giving you dewy, supple and hydrated skin.

Pop it in the fridge to give your skin an extra pick-me-up in the mornings and use it as a sleeping mask at night (I do this once or twice a week) and on flights to keep your skin moisturized. A little goes a long way, and I believe this tub will last me for about 6 months at least.

Use it as a sleeping mask

To use it as a sleeping mask, pick up a 50 cent dollop of cream, apply it on to your face and let it sit for about 3 minutes before massaging it thoroughly into your skin. Head to bed when it's fully absorbed and wake up to smooth, radiant and glowing skin in the morning.

All-in-one products like this special gel cream are just perfect for traveling and this gem of a skincare product is definitely heading overseas with me on my next flight out of the country!

Fashion: 2015 Oscars Best Dressed Trends

Oscars 2015 may be officially over, but there's always a thing or two that we can pick up from the celebrities when it comes to getting ready for the red carpet (or perhaps gala dinners, dinner & dance and other formal events).

Red, red, red

When in doubt, wear red. It makes a statement effortlessly and you will definitely stand out from the crowd. With such an attention-grabbing colour like red, you can go easy on the accessories and simply bask in the limelight like a superstar.

Dakota Johnson in Saint Laurent
Rosamund Pike in Givenchy

 Beads & Embellishments

You can always count on Elie Saab's gowns to look every bit like a princess who has stepped right out of a fairy-tale. I am a huge fan of beads and embellishments as they add an instant touch of glamour and femininity to any ensemble. Thanks to the shimmering beads on these gorgeous gowns, accessories can be kept to a minimum too.

Emma Stone in Elie Saab Haute Couture
Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab Haute Couture

If you prefer a less princess-y rendition of this trend, go for a classic form-fitting silhouette to accentuate those curves.

Jennifer Aniston in Versace
Lupita Nyong'o in Calvin Klein

Classic Sheath Silhouette

Slim, sleek and stylish, the classic sheath silhouette is high on glamour and low on fuss. It is especially flattering on both tall and skinny as well as hour-glass figures as it elongates your frame and adds definition to your waist. I love how Gwyneth Paltrow and Zoe Saldana rocked their sheath gowns in dainty shades of pastel and blush pink. And how could we forget Reese Witherspoon who cut such a stunning figure in an elegant black and white off-shoulder gown?

Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford
Zoe Saldana in Atelier Versace

Which style do you prefer? Are there any other trends that you spotted on the Oscars 2015 red carpet too?

Aesthetics & Beauty Looking Fabulous & Gorgeous Party

$

We all want to look fabulous and gorgeous, don't we? With this in mind, Aesthetics & Beauty Magazine organized a Looking Fabulous & Gorgeous Party at Lime House last month.

I don't know about you, but I am always on the lookout for new skincare and beauty products as our skin transforms with age and environmental changes. In a nutshell, this means that it is always useful to change up your beauty routine every now and then to keep your skin in tip top condition.

I had a wonderful time at the party as it gave me the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with several brands, some of which were new to me. In today's post, I will be sharing more about some of these beauty brands, so let's start the ball rolling, shall we?

JANE IREDALE

My eyes lit up immediately when I saw a booth dedicated to Jane Iredale as Karen had recommended their Powder-Me SPF (essentially a powder sunblock with SPF 30) to me several years ago and I have been using it religiously since.

For the uninitiated, Jane Iredale is a mineral make-up pioneer from USA. And in case you were wondering, yes, Jane is a real person.

Jane Iredale's inspiration stemmed from her career as a casting director and producer, where she got to work with actresses and models who depended on beautiful, healthy skin for successful careers. To further her passion to enhance the lives of women, Jane worked with dermatologists and plastic surgeons to develop her own cosmetics line. Today, there are over 400 products in Jane Iredale's cosmetics line.

Plastic surgeons were the first to recognize the benefits of mineral foundations and how safe they were to use, even on patients who had just undergone laser resurfacing. The brand's best-seller is the Glow Time BB cream, which includes antioxidants such as green tea and pomegranate to soothe skin.

How is Jane Iredale different from other cosmetic brands?

Jane Iredale's key ingredient is micronised mineral particles. When applied, these particles create a protective layer against external pollutants without clogging pores, while giving you the coverage that you need. Their products are suitable for all skin types, including acne-prone and sensitive skin, as harmful chemicals such as preservatives, dyes and perfumes, as well as alcohol, are omitted.

Aside from skin-loving ingredients, another interesting aspect about Jane Iredale's make-up or mineral make-up in general, is that it does not dissolve in water or oil. The lovely people from Jane Iredale placed two containers of water, one for normal cosmetics and the other for Jane Iredale's make-up, to prove this to us. Hence, there is no need for multiple touch-ups and your make-up wouldn't slide off your face on a hot, humid day. Isn't that great for our weather?

Jane Iredale has also recently launched its new make-up collection, Country Weekend, this month. The collection features a limited edition Getaway Eye Shadow Kit that offers 5 wearable neutral shades, Jelly Jar Gel Eyeliner in Espresso, and Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain in Forever Peach. I'll be reviewing these products in a separate post, so do look out for it soon!

ENVIRON

Environ is a beauty brand that is entirely new to me, but I couldn't be more impressed when I learnt more about the brand's history. Environ was founded by Dr Des Fernandes, a prominent Cape Town plastic surgeon, who was also the first person in the world to introduce vitamin A in high effective doses.

"A face lift in a bottle" is what the Intensive Revival Masque, the brand's latest product, aims to achieve with revolutionary ingredients such as Asiatic, Mandelic and Lactic Acid. I was told that not only can you look forward to younger looking skin after using it for about 4-6 months, the Mandelic acid in this product can also help lighten pigmentation over time.

I have pigmentation on my upper cheeks (hereditary, unfortunately) and am definitely hoping to see visible results in the longer term.

DR BENJAMIN YIM CLINICAL AESTHETICS & LASER CENTRE

Dr Benjamin Yim specializes in aesthetics treatments and is an appointed medical trainer for Botox administration and Matridex (NeoAsia) skin filler administration.

Other treatments that are available at Dr Benjamin Yim's clinic include fillers, peels, fat transfer, thermage, threadlifts and vaser liposelection as well as fractional resurfacing.

I was very excited to see Latisse at the counter as I have heard so much about its effectiveness in promoting lash growth. Apart from Latisse, Dr Benjamin Yim also carries his own brand of skincare products at the clinic to cater to different skin types.

BENE PREMIUM BLURIA & BENE PREMIUM ROUGERIA
I try my very best to take good care of my hair especially since I subject it to chemical treatments and dyes ever so often. Fortunately, more non-silicone shampoo and hair treatment products are making their way to our shores these days. Moltobene's Bene Premium Bluria and Bene Premium Rougeria ranges may be the new kids on the block where Singapore is concerned, but they have come a long way in Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Both ranges are 100% made in Japan and formulated with natural ingredients to transform hair to its original state of health by cleansing all the impurities on the scalp.

I have been using the Bene Premium Bluria range, which is meant for scalp care, for a couple of weeks now and my scalp does feel much cleaner and less irritable.

Unlike most scalp-care shampoos, it has a surprisingly refreshing yet feminine fragrance which boasts fresh and fruity top notes, a floral middle note and a musky base note. The delicate scent is what I like best about this range as fragrant scalp-care shampoos are relatively rare in the market.

TEALY

Beauty comes from within and tea, which is chock full of antioxidants, can help us to achieve inner beauty thanks to its health ad skin benefits. I love tea, and if you're like me, you will find Tealy's tea varieties very unique.

With exclusive flavours such as Earl Grey Creme, Anjou Paradise, Mint Chocolate Truffle and Wonder Berry Chocolate Truffle, it is hard not to be impressed.

We had the opportunity to taste the Anjou Paradise Ceylon Tea blend, a fruit infusion with sweet pear, pineapple and passion fruit flavours topped with a citrus finish. Surprisingly, its fruity aroma and slight tinge of sweetness seemed to go well with desserts and was the perfect accompaniment to the strawberry cakes that were served.

Karen, Raphael and I had a lovely afternoon getting to know more about each of these brands. Thanks to their generosity, each of us walked away with 3 bags of goodies on top of lucky draw prizes.

It has been a while since I last met Joselyn as well, and it was such a pleasure catching up with her at the event too.

Thank you once again for organizing such a fabulous party!

Fashion Fridays: Crop Tops & Book Clutches

Today's edition of Fashion Fridays features one of my typical weekend outfits. I have an obsession with crop tops, if you haven't already realized, as I think they're perfect for our sweltering heat (is Singapore getting hotter or is it just me?). I pair a crop top with shorts or a simple skater skirt and off I go to run my errands or catch up with loved ones every weekend.

Book clutches are my go-to bags for the weekend. They're instant conversation starters, easy to match and never fail to draw attention wherever I go. I have quite a number of these adorable book clutches in my wardrobe, some a little more whimsical while others are a little edgier, but I love them all the same. The size is just right too as I like to minimize the load that I lug around to prevent back pains. More importantly, the likelihood of bumping into someone else with the same bag is close to zilch.

On a more personal note, I've been a little under the weather recently. It could be the heat, the haze or just fatigue as a result of everything that is going on in my life right now.

JW and I are in the midst of planning some lifestyle changes, and as much as I would like to reveal more, the details would have to be kept under wraps in the interim (if you were wondering, no I am not pregnant....). For now, all I hope to do when the weekend arrives is to spend time with JW and also spend some time alone to let my body shut down and let my mind wander. I'm a very homely person by nature, and as much as I enjoy the company of friends and family, I relish time alone.

Fashion: How to Look Classy in a Crop Top

$

The crop top.  Love it or hate it, this nineties trend is back with a vengeance. If you read my blog regularly, it wouldn’t take very much to guess that I am a huge fan of crop tops. No longer just for teeny-boppers, the crop top has now been bumped up to high-fashion status as they appear on runways in sleek, modern fabrics, prints and cuts.

A-listers like Cara Delevingne, Chloe Moretz, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Anne Hathaway, Diane Kruger and Karlie Kloss soon took to the revived trend, which shows no signs on stopping for now. Perhaps it’s about time to make space in your wardrobe for crop tops!

The modern crop top no longer resembles its trashier counterparts circa 1997 (also known as Britney Spears' Oops! I Did It Again era). It can look incredibly classy and stylish when worn correctly. Today, I’m going to share more about how you can stay classy in a crop top. Pair your crop tops with the following:

1. A pencil skirt

Here's how the classy ladies do it on the red carpet: a plain-coloured crop top (preferably with sleeves) with a midi skirt in a subtle print, a la Olivia Wilde and Miranda Kerr, or a printed bustier top with a skirt in a punchy hue. The key is to keep the skirt's hemline at a modest length, mid-calf or knee-length. Keep the prints as simple as possible and let the gorgeous female silhouette take centre stage. Remember: less is more.

2. A-line skirt

A high-waist A-line skirt is a girly complement to a crop top, and it looks flattering on everyone. At midi length, it lends a modern take on the lady-like fifties look. Look how Zoe Saldana nailed the demure yet sexy look in her teal ensemble, paired with nude strappy heels. If you prefer your skirts to come with some edginess, take a leaf out of Shailene Woodley's book and go for leather.

3. Classic White

Who said white is an impractical colour only reserved for weddings? In a crop top and skirt combination, white is a lovely shade that brings a dose of spring-worthy breeziness. And you don't have to stick to pure white. Different shades like ivory, off-white or even cream are cool alternatives. With all-white ensembles, it is easy to have fun with your accessories and makeup. Bring on the lipsticks and blushers!

4. Sleek Trousers

Another way to balance the midriff-baring crop top is by pairing it with sleek slim-cut trousers. Do as Odette Annable did and go all-black for a black-tie event, or toughen up an all-white ensemble with strong shoulders a la Vanessa Hudgens in a Catherine Malandrino crop top.

If you're after a more laidback look, a dark-coloured cropped tank top with printed silk trousers will have you looking equal parts chill and sexy, like the way Diane Kruger does. The A-lister flaunted her abs and gave her outfit an unexpected jolt of colour with a pair of Prabal Gurung pants. For a daytime street style, do as French designer, actress, and musician Alma Jodorowsky did and pair a sweet-looking white crop top with wide-legged jeans, a salmon-pink cross-body purse and a dark chapeau.

5. Prints

How do you wear a crop top and not look like you're stuck in the nineties? Update it with modern prints, that's how! Chloe Moretz applies her daring yet classy fashion sense to this Valentino getup, covering up a tiny black crop top with a boxy printed jacket and matching shorts. Look how her thin-strapped stilettos elongated her slim legs! Definitely a tasteful grown-up look for the teenage actress. Likewise, the Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev opted for a printed crop top and shorts ensemble in a paint-splatter print, finishing off with a pair of complementary pink pumps and a girly side braid.

6. Choose sleek fabrics

The best way to update your crop top is with lush fabrics and sleek silhouettes. Flowy fabrics can look sloppy, and plain old cotton can look a little too nineties grunge (unless that's the look you're going for), so stick to structured, stiff fabrics that hold their shape and boxy cuts that dial up the drama by enhancing your silhouette. Case in point: the bold, edgy but elegant looks seen on Rihanna, Cara, and Anne.

Luxola Sunscreen Review & Discount Code

    $
    0
    0
I never ever leave the house without sunscreen, and if I had to choose one skincare product that I cannot do without, sunscreen would certainly be my choice. Luxola Singapore must have read my mind because they sent 3 sunscreen products my way recently. **Luxola has also extended a special discount code for my readers, so do read on till the end of the post to find out more!

I cannot stress enough the importance of wearing sunscreen to prevent pigmentation and premature aging. However, one man's meat could jolly well be another man's poison and this theory applies to sunscreen too. A particular sunscreen brand or formulation may glide onto your skin beautifully without any greasy after feel, but it could also make someone else look like she smeared grease onto her face.

To find the right sunscreen that suits your needs, here are just some of the questions that you would need to answer:

    What is your skin type?
Is your skin sensitive or prone to allergies?
Are you looking for a face or body sunscreen?
Are you intending to use it in Singapore or overseas?

To help you along, I will be using these questions as a basis to review the 3 sunscreen brands from Luxola.

    1) Lunamer UV Protector SPF 40 PA++ (S$42)

Lunamer hails from Japan, and if your skin is prone to irritation or allergies due to environmental aggressors like air pollution, you'll be happy to know that all Lunamer skincare products, including this sunscreen, is formulated with ingredients such as Clear Nano Vitamin E, Crown Sugar and Japanese herb Scutellaria Baicalensis to protect the skin from air pollution and UV rays.

I have slightly sensitive oily skin that is dehydrated beneath and most sunscreens make my face look as shiny as a disco ball or in the worst case scenario, result in the formation of oil seeds on my face.

What I love about Lunamer's sunscreen is its serum-like texture which glides on like a dream and feels absolutely featherlight on my face. The lightweight yet hydrating formula makes this sunscreen perfect for our humid climate.

Did you know that this multi-tasking product doubles up as a moisturizer and primer too? Not only am I able to simplify my beauty routine, it also ensures that my make-up stays put the whole day.If you have oily skin like me, you will love this.

Sunscreen has to be reapplied every 2 hours, but most of us tend to neglect this aspect as it is such a hassle to lug it around. Thanks to Lunamer's slim and handy packaging, you can easily pop this into your handbag and reapply your sunscreen throughout the day.

    2) Soleil Du Midi Face Sunscreen SPF 45 (S$100)

I have always been intrigued by organic skincare products as I believe that reduced exposure to harmful chemicals benefits our skin in the long term.

Soleil Toujours is a luxury organic sun care brand and the Soleil Toujours Du Midi Face Sunscreen SPF 45 is a physical sunscreen with 81% natural ingredients. It also contains an innovativeproprietary Eco-sun complex, which comprises powerful anti-aging and anti-oxidant ingredients such as red algae, Vitamin C ester, Vitamin E and bisabolol. This anti-aging formula aims to hydrate and smooth fine lines.

Physical sunscreens like this one are usually more suitable for sensitive skin as its active ingredients include titanium dioxide and zinc oxide which are not absorbed into the skin. Chemical sunscreens, on the other hand, are absorbed by the skin and could potentially cause allergies.

Soleil Du Midi is specially formulated for use during intense sun exposure but despite its skin loving properties, I find its thick consistency harder to blend and it also leaves behind a slight sheen, which is typical of a physical sunscreen. One way to counter this is to dust on a layer of loose powder to keep the shine at bay. Alternatively, you could also reserve this for use when you travel to countries with drier climates.

    3) Supergoop! Everyday SPF30 with Cellular Response Technology(S$68)

Supergoop! is a non-oily, non-comedogenic chemical sunscreen that can be used on both your face and body. Its avobenzone based formula absorbs into the skin readily and it replenishes moisture through a unique beta-glucan proven to deliver better long term hydration than hyauluronic acid.

It comes with a convenient twist-and-lock pump but due to the sunscreen's thin, liquid consistency, it can be rather challenging to control the amount of product dispensed.

I have tried this sunscreen on both my face and body, and personally, I would recommend this as a body sunscreen. While it does not feel greasy when applied to the face, my skin looks much shinier than when I applied the other two sunscreens featured. When applied to the body however, this feels just like a regular body moisturizer, without any icky sticky after feel. It also makes a great sunscreen for sports or beach lovers as it is water-resistant for 80 minutes!

Each sunscreen has its pros and cons, and each product's suitability is dependent on your skin type, the environment and climate that you are exposed to as well as the activities that you are engaging in. I personally prefer the Lunamer for daily use in Singapore, Soleil Du Midi for when I travel to temperate countries and SuperGoop! as a body sunscreen, especially when I head to the beach.

Fashion Fridays: Of Pink Highlights and Goodbyes

    $

While I generally favour neutral colours and monochromatic tones, there are times when I shake up my wardrobe by injecting a splash of colours and bold prints. The same principle applies to my hair colour. I've never steered away from shades of ash, brown and blonde, but every now and then, I'll take the plunge and go for colourful highlights. I had purple highlights about a year ago but this time, pink beckoned.

My hairstylist, Michelle Soh, from Jeric Salon at Bugis, gave me vibrant pink highlights without bleaching and as I am typing this post about 2 weeks on, my highlights are not showing any signs of fading. What I love about Jeric Salon is that only Aveda products and hair dyes are used. Unlike most brands, Aveda uses naturally-derived ingredients to ensure that your hair and scalp are well taken care of. With Aveda, I can now achieve beautiful colours without exposing my scalp to harsh chemicals and bleach. Killing two birds with one stone has never been easier!

I love my pink highlights so much that I decided to dedicate today's edition of Fashion Fridays to an all pink ensemble that spells fun without compromising on femininity. I usually find midi skirts a little too formal for the weekend, but the whimsical prints on this 2-piece set takes the fun factor up a notch and makes it a great weekend outfit.

I wore this eye-catching set out to run some errands before meeting up with my family and visiting my grandmother at her home in Tanjong Pagar. As age catches up on me, my priorities change and I see myself seizing every opportunity to spend time with my family and close friends.

On a more personal note, the month of April also marks the death anniversary of a close friend whom I lost to an accident many years ago. Goodbyes are never easy, but saying goodbye is not the hardest part of losing someone. Having to continue living your life without them is always the hardest. That feeling of emptiness, that very void that is impossible to fill.

Unfortunately, losing our loved ones is part and parcel of life, and something that we have absolutely no control over. Cherish every moment and treasure every person that you love, because you'll never know when they'll take their last breaths.

If you haven't made any plans this long weekend, perhaps you'll like to make some time for your family and loved ones?

    Royal Bird's Nest & 5 Facts about Bird's Nest

If diamonds are a girl's best friend, bird's nest is your skin's best friend. All you need to do is to take a look at the porcelain skin of those who swear by bird's nest and have been consuming it religiously since young.

The boss of Royal Bird's Nest, a bird's nest specialty shop based in People's Park Centre in Chinatown, is one such example. He has been taking bird's nest everyday since he was a little boy. If you were to see him in person, you would certainly be in awe of his smooth, radiant and absolutely pore-less skin.

What are the benefits of consuming bird's nest?

Traditionally prepared as a soup, bird's nest is rich in organic nutrients such as soluble glycoprotein, amino acids and minerals. Bird's nest also contains "Cell Division Inducing Hormone" and an "Epithelial Growth Factor" that stimulate the growth and division of cells to enhance tissue growth, cellular regeneration and cell-mediated immunity in human beings.

If you consume bird's nest regularly, you can be assured of fairer, younger and more radiant skin. It also strengthens your lungs, clears phlegm, and enhances your body's immunity.

Did you know that consumption of bird's nest during pregnancy also boosts your baby's immune system? It also shortens your recovery time after giving birth.

I personally enjoy bird's nest as a tonic from time to time as it is truly delicious in comparison to most traditional Chinese medicine concoctions. However, I could never quite figure out why there are so many varieties of bird's nest in the market.

How do you tell if a particular type of bird's nest is superior or inferior in quality?

Besides sharing more about Royal Bird's Nest, I will also be highlighting 5 lesser known facts about bird's nest that would give you tips on selecting and cooking bird's nest to reap its optimal health benefits. Royal Bird's Nest has also kindly extended exclusive discounts to all my lovely readers, so do read on till the end of this post to find out more.

    Background of Royal Bird's Nest

Royal Bird's Nest specializes in 100% genuine bird's nest without harmful chemicals, artificial colouring or preservatives.

No bleaching agents are used in the process of cleaning. To ensure that its bird's nest is safe for consumption, Royal Bird's Nest developed a state-of-the-art cleaning technology that uses tiny bubbles in water to release explosive energy. This energy, coupled with reactive oxygen, exterminates pollutants such as E.Coli, Fungi, Nitrate and Nitrite in bird's nest without compromising its nutritional value.

Quality is assured as Royal Bird's Nest oversees the entire value chain process in-house, beginning with harvesting, followed by cleaning, quality control and ending with packaging.

Royal Bird's Nest believes in bringing bird's nest to the masses by selling them at wholesale prices. Besides premium bird's nest packed in transparent boxes which are perfect as gifts or even for personal consumption, it also serves pocket-friendly freshly brewed bird's nest soup in four different flavours.

Too busy to brew a bowl of bird's nest at home? Now, you can pop by Royal Bird's Nest for a quick fix!

We were treated to the Rock Sugar, Ginseng and Osmanthus varieties. Priced at just S$12 a bowl, each flavour came along with its own distinctive taste to cater to varying preferences.

Karen and I generally have a soft spot for bird's nest with rock sugar, hence that was our personal favourite at Royal Bird's Nest.

For a more concentrated concoction, order their premium bird's nest soup, priced at S$68. If you are too busy to drop by the shop, you can make arrangements to have your bird's nest soup delivered right to your doorstep one day in advance. How very convenient!

Meant to be shared among 2-3 pax, the premium bird's nest soup packs a punch as every spoonful delivers generous portions of nourishing bird's nest. While it is best to consume bird's nest when it is freshly brewed, you can still enjoy this bowl of bird's nest goodness 5-6 days down the road as long as it is stored in the refrigerator.

As we indulged in servings after servings of delectable bird's nest soup, questions about how to go about choosing and cooking the best bird's nest for consumption began to fill our minds.

We had a very informative Q&A session with the boss of Royal Bird's Nest, who patiently answered each and every question as candidly as he could to satisfy our curiosity. He took our breaths away with his candour as he debunked several myths about bird's nest and shared invaluable insights with us, no holds barred.

I thought it would be useful to share these nuggets of information with you, so I have compiled 5 facts about bird's nest that you probably never knew!

    FACT #1:

Blood Bird's Nest is NOT superior in quality

Blood Bird's Nest, commonly known as 血燕 sports a reddish brown hue (far left in photo below) and is known to be a delicacy that is rich in nutrition as it is said to be produced by mother birds who rebuilt the nests many times till their saliva becomes blood. Contrary to popular belief, the reddish brown colour is typically due to the accumulation of swallow faeces, which does not translate to higher nutritional value.

(L-R) Fake Blood Bird's Nest, Cave Bird's Nest and House Bird's Nest
In many cases, swallow breeders have also resorted to dyeing the bird's nest or adding nitrites to create blood bird's nest. Due to the potential health threats posed, the sale of blood bird's nest has already been banned in China.

    FACT #2:

There is NO difference in nutritional value between House Bird's Nest and Cave Bird's Nest

I was told by friends who buy bird's nest frequently that cave bird's nest is superior to house bird's nest. If you were to step into a bird's nest shop, you will realize that cave bird's nest fetches a higher price as well. The main reason is because cave bird's nest are produced by wild swiftlets and are thus considered to be more valuable.

The truth of the matter is, the higher price takes into account the danger harvesters face when harvesting cave bird's nest and such bird's nest typically contain more foreign materials such as feathers and twigs. It is also more susceptible to heavy metal contamination due to external environment factors.

Given all the potential risks and higher price point, it is probably best to stick to house bird's nest since there isn't any difference in terms of nutritional value between the two.

    FACT #3:

Beautifully Molded Bird's Nest and Bird's Nest Strips have the same nutritional value

Most of the bird's nest that we come across in shops come in a beautiful concave shape, as pictured below.

If you thought the shape is completely natural, sorry to burst your bubble. This shape is actually molded to perfection using a plastic mold.

Before they are molded, bird's nest comes in strips. If you are less concerned about presentation or if you are buying for personal consumption, bird's nest strips are just as good and are likely to be more attractively priced too.

    FACT #4:

White Bird's Nest is better than Yellow Bird's Nest

Yellow bird's nest is widely popular due to its gorgeous colour, but did you know that it belongs to an older harvest? Yellow bird's nest are usually harvested after more than 4 -6 months and the colour is usually caused by fermentation or oxidation. The cooking process is also longer as it is much harder.

Fresh bird's nest is white in colour. As bird's nest is best taken fresh, white bird's nest is more nutritious and beneficial for your body!

    FACT #5:

Never boil your bird's nest beyond a temperature of 120 Degrees Celsius as the nutritional value would be lost

Cooking bird's nest is an art in itself. The first step is to soak the bird's nest in water for 2 hours before double boiling. Double boiling is an integral step to preserve the essence and nutrients. Do take precautions to ensure that temperature does not go beyond 120 Degrees Celsius as this will cause the nutritional value of the bird's nest to be compromised.

Now you know what to look out for when you go bird's nest shopping! I hope you found these 5 facts about Bird's Nest useful.

Healthy Hair with Beijing 101 (Giveaway Included!)

To have healthy hair, you first need to have a healthy scalp. I can attest to this from experience. I used to have sensitive scalp that itches from time to time, but after regular scalp treatments over time and through the use of suitable hair care products, this has since become a thing of the past.

I am a firm believer of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Chinese herbs for scalp care because they truly work for me, hence when Beijing 101 invited me to their workshop at their Century Square outlet to find out more about their services, I said yes.

One common myth about hair care centres is that they are meant for the older generation, especially those with hair loss problems. Hair loss can occur at any age due to a variety of factors such as stress, changes in environment, illness, oily scalp or dandruff.

Hair care centres like Beijing 101 can help to keep your hair and scalp in the pink of health by diagnosing and treating scalp and hair problems. As we all know, prevention is always better than cure and the first step to preventing hair loss is to take good care of your scalp.

For 41 years, Beijing 101 has been solving hair problems by using treatments based on TCM principles. As Chinese herbs are able to treat the root of your hair problems and are gentle to the scalp, only premium Chinese herbs such as Dang Gui, Ginseng and He Shou Wu are used in Beijing 101's treatments. These herbs are specially grown and harvested under highly regulated conditions. Beijing 101's products are currently sold in over 60 countries including USA, England and Japan.

All hair care consultants at Beijing 101 are trained in TCM and are able to solve hair issues that affect both men and women. Through a detailed hair and scalp analysis, the hair care consultants are able to customize hair treatments that are tailored to your needs. You can also be assured of the quality of the treatments as a resident TCM physician can be found in every Beijing 101 outlet.

During the workshop, I was taken on a tour of the branch, where I had the opportunity to take a look at the individual consultation rooms, hair and scalp treatment areas.

    Hair Wash Area

    VIP rooms

I was also treated to a complimentary scalp scan at the end of the tour. While scalp scans are not new to me, this was the first time that my scalp scan results actually turned out better than expected.

Look, no more clogged hair follicles! Even then, I know I can't afford to rest on my laurels and the only way to maintain a healthy scalp is to take good care of it. I was also told to go to bed earlier at night as there was some redness in my scalp.

    Beijing 101's Herbal Scalp Treatment

Beijing 101's Herbal Scalp Treatment helps to soothe and eliminate itchiness in your scalp while it cleanses deep within hair follicles to unclog impurities.

Fashion Fridays: Blooming Bougainvillea in Singapore

A glance at the numerous photos on Instagram is all it takes for us to know that it is currently the Sakura season in Japan. The breathtaking scenery makes me wish I had planned a trip to Tokyo this year. Oh well, there's always next year.

A few weeks ago however, one of my girlfriends alerted me to these gorgeous pink bougainvillea trees in Toa Payoh central. I saw her photos on Facebook and wow, they definitely look like the next best thing to Sakura. Curiosity got the better of me and I had to go down to take a look.

To say that I was completely blown away by the sight would be an understatement. I basked in the glorious beauty of mother nature and wondered at the same time why there was hardly anyone around to take in the magnificent view. There were only a handful of domestic helpers enjoying a mini picnic of sorts as they marveled at the beautiful trees and proceeded to snap away on their cameras.

Indeed, photography is the beauty of life captured and photos speak a thousand words.

As you can tell, I was completely besotted. The pictures would have been even more perfect if we had green pastures in place of the tiled flooring.

My outfit for the day was a casual eyelet top and skirt set from Japanese label Liz Lisa, which was purchased last June during my trip to Hokkaido. Before this, it was hiding in the depths of my wardrobe waiting to be discovered. My wardrobe is bursting but I always feel that I have nothing to wear and it doesn't help that I tend to forget what I have in there. Isn't this a perennial problem that most of us ladies (and some gentlemen) face?

The Liz Lisa brand is femininity personified. Frills, floral prints, bows and lace are what you can expect in almost every collection.

I find this preppy set very wearable as it exudes tenderness without being too girly. To up the preppy factor, I paired it with a whimsical Alice in Wonderland book clutch in the same colour palette.  You can also mix and match the top and bottom separately to create different looks for the weekend.

Crème Simon Micellar Water Makeup Remover Review

Crème Simon is a French skincare brand that uses over 90% natural ingredients, and natural skincare brands always get me all excited, especially if the products are free of parabens, alcohol, silicones, sulphates and colouring.

Crème Simon was founded in 1860 by Joseph Simon, a talented young apothecary. He was searching for a remedy to relieve dry chapped hands that laundresses were so prone to, which eventually led to his discovery of a cream power packed with seven types of flowers and plants with incredible healing properties. This concoction is also known as the Activ-Fleur Complex, an essential ingredient in all Crème Simon products till today.

Did you know that at the height of its popularity, Crème Simon was the most coveted beauty treatment in its era and sold out in Paris, New York and Asia? Pretty impressive, if you ask me.

Today, Crème Simon promises a range of sheer, lightweight skincare formulas for the contemporary woman. The brand believes that our skin is defined by our environment, hence their products are duly customized to our climate. Personally, I stand by this very same belief as well, and as a matter of fact, I always change up my skincare routine whenever I'm overseas. For instance, I prefer gel moisturizers when I'm in Singapore but I'll slather on richer cream moisturizers in Australia where the climate is colder and drier.

Similarly, I generally prefer cream-based or oil-based makeup removers in colder climates, but in Singapore, micellar water makeup removers are my favourite.

Crème Simon's Micellar Water Makeup Remover is a water-based, no-rinse makeup remover that gently and thoroughly removes all impurities and makeup, including waterproof makeup.

It combines the coolness of water with the cleansing properties of oil micelles to effectively trap impurities and make-up. As it is infused with rose, iris and jasmine extracts to boost toxin elimination and promote clear, luminous skin, it comes with a pleasant floral scent that lifts my mood every time I use it.

Its lightweight consistency leaves your skin feeling clean, smooth and hydrated without any oily or sticky after-feel. You could probably get away without double cleansing if you don't apply much make-up on a daily basis. Otherwise, I would still recommend following up with a facial cleanser thereafter.

Unlike most micellar make-up removers, Crème Simon's version is able to remove eye make-up (including water-proof eyeliners) effortlessly. In fact, I use this a one-step makeup remover for both my face and eyes.

I use my trusty MAC PowerPoint eyeliner everyday and based on my experience thus far, micellar makeup removers generally do not do a good job of removing it thoroughly. With Crème Simon's micellar water makeup remover however, all you have to do is soak a cotton pad with the product, press it down lightly on your skin and hold for a few seconds before gently swiping your makeup away.

Most importantly, no rubbing is required at all, which makes it perfect for eye make-up removal as you wouldn't want to run the risk of getting wrinkles due to excessive rubbing.

Did you know that this makeup remover is fortified with Wheat Oligosaccharides Complex which supposedly reduces pigmentation as well? I've been grappling with pigmentation issues for eons and would love to see what this product can do in the longer term.

While I have yet to witness its brightening effects given that I have just started using it, I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for a lightweight makeup remover that provides heavy duty action with a heavenly scent to boot.

It may have taken me a while to finally get acquainted with Crème Simon's products as I was away during their launch last year, but nonetheless, it is always better late than never. After trying their Micellar Water Makeup Remover for a couple of weeks, I am now officially hooked.

The lovely ladies at Crème Simon subsequently surprised me with more products recently, so if you're interested, do keep your eyes peeled as I will certainly share my review with you in due course.

Innersense Spa & Wellness Facial Review

To keep my skin in tip top condition, I stick to a regular beauty routine and make it a point to go for facials whenever I sense that my skin condition is less than satisfactory. Towards the end of last year, I had a sudden outbreak of oil seeds on my face resulting from a moisturizer that was way too rich and creamy for my oily skin.

Oil seeds are tough nuts to crack as they don't go away on their own, hence extraction is necessary. Fortunately, one of my friends introduced me to Innersense Spa & Wellness, a beauty salon centrally located at Far East Plaza.

An oasis of peace and calm in the heart of bustling Orchard Road, the minimalist decor and warm ambiance at Innersense Spa & Wellness put me in a relaxed mood instantly.

My eyes lit up when I saw skincare products by French brand Payot on display. Payot is a staple in the French beauty scene and its products are commonly found in beauty salons. The brand's commitment towards creating natural products from plant and marine extracts as well as minerals to minimize allergic reactions is commendable, and I certainly appreciate Innersense's choice of skincare brand.

Ladies, did you know that your boyfriends and husbands can also treat themselves to a pampering facial or massage treatment with Payot's Homme range at Innersense while you get your treatment done?

Before my treatment commenced, Cindy, the therapist, assessed my skin condition and gave me an overview of the proposed treatment customized for my skin type.

After a cup of warm tea and a change of attire, I was all ready to begin my treatment for the day.

These are the products that were used during the treatment.

Despite the fact that many facial treatments have steered towards the use of machines in place of manual extractions, I still believe that the human touch, especially manual extraction, is of paramount importance and more effective for oil seeds, white heads and black heads removal.

I had expected to cringe in pain, as with most manual extractions, but I was in for a pleasant surprise. I hardly felt any pain as Cindy was extremely gentle with my skin and executed every move with utmost precision. The diamond dermabrasion machine was also used in tandem with manual extraction to expedite the unclogging process.

High frequency treatments are known for their anti-bacterial properties, hence this was administered after the extraction process to eliminate any bacteria and prevent infection. My treatment ended with a soothing hydration mask from Payot and a pampering lymphatic drainage massage using Meditrina's Ageless Herbal Cream to remove toxins from the body.

I have always believed that every facial review should come along with before and after photos. I can go on and on, waxing lyrical about how effective a treatment is, but photos are proof that it truly works.

Here are my before and after photos. Both photos were taken with slightly different lighting but they have not been edited.

Can you tell that most of the bumps and oil seeds disappeared after just one session? The most amazing part was, I could immediately head out for dinner right after as there was no redness or swelling at all.

I have to thank Cindy for this as she did a terrific job of saving my skin!

    Let's Build Singapore in 2065 - #BuildSG2065

Singapore has come a long way since it achieved independence 50 years ago. We have a beautiful garden city, a democratic and multi-racial society, and a safe and secure country where everyone lives in harmony. Most importantly, we have a place that we are all proud to call home.

As we celebrate SG50 this year, let's take one step further and let our imagination run wild as we envision Singapore 50 years down the road.

What will Singapore look like in 2065?

What do you hope to see in Singapore in 2065?

The Straits Times and CapitaLand are calling out to all Singaporeans to submit your ideas here . A total of 50 attractive prizes are to be won, including the top 3 prizes below:

Your ideas can be submitted in the form of videos, images and text. Remember, the only limit is your imagination, so let your creative juices flow and think out of the box. Who knows? You might just be a winner!

Your ideas should fall under one of these topics:
    • Go Green
    • Smart Spaces
    • Space-Age Kampungs
    • Weatherproof World

What about me? What do I hope to see in Singapore in 2065?

I've always thought that it would be amazing if we could incorporate augmented reality into multi-tasking wearable gadgets or electronic devices found in our home.

For instance, by wearing something as simple as a watch, you can get an instant health scan and get a rundown of your current health condition, the types of food that you should avoid and what you should do to prevent yourself from falling ill.

How about a smart refridgerator that keeps stock of everything that you have in the fridge, keeps track of your likes and dislikes and automatically replenishes your groceries based on your preferences? I have always found grocery shopping a chore, hence I'll be eternally grateful if such technological advancements come our way!

And you know how women have bursting wardrobes but are always complaining that they have nothing to wear? I have come to realize that these feelings arise because our crammed-to-death wardrobes make it difficult for us to see what we have at a glance, and it takes even more effort for us to mix and match clothes, bags and accessories to put together a decent outfit.

Now, what if you have a smart wardrobe that catalogs every single item in your wardrobe and project it on a screen whenever you open up your wardrobe, along with styling and make-up recommendations based on not only the occasion that you're dressing up for, but your current mood as well? As it is, I am already rubbing my hands in glee at the thought of it!

What other ideas do you have?

The deadline for the contest is 30 April 2015, so keep your ideas coming and submit them at http://buildsg2065.straitstimes.com!

Fashion Fridays: Layering with Ponchos by Freja Designs

In today's Fashion Fridays post, I will be sharing more about layering with ponchos from Freja Designs. Yes, layering is possible even in our hot and humid climate!

I'm not sure about you, but I am always undecided about whether I should bring out a cardigan or a jacket to keep myself warm because I could be feeling unbearably hot at one point and in the blink of an eye, be completely frozen when I enter a mall. In Singapore, it may be blazing hot when you step outdoors, but the minute you step into a shopping mall, the temperature dips drastically as you are greeted by cool air blasting from the air-conditioners. Don't even get me started on the cinemas.

Ponchos, like this one from Freja Designs are a wonderful alternative. Freja Designs is a Swedish fashion brand that is currently found in hotels such as Fullerton Hotel, Shangri-La Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel and Conrad Hotel. Made of 100% Rayon, their ponchos are incredibly lightweight and versatile. You can layer it over a dress like I did, or if you prefer a more casual look, layer it over a top and wear it out with shorts instead.

While I wouldn't say that a poncho like this could keep you extremely warm, it does provide some degree of warmth and coverage. Better yet, it adds interest to your outfit and makes a statement. Just look at how my simple white dress has transformed.

It is amazing how a poncho could make a difference to your entire outfit. I can foresee myself bringing this along for my overseas trips too as it is completely crease-free. In fact, this would make the perfect beach cover-up too!

Fashion: Maxi Cardigans by Freja Designs

Have you read my previous post on Layering with Ponchos by Freja Designs? Today's post is rather similar, except that this time, I will be sharing how layering is made possible with a maxi cardigan.

Yet another functional piece from Swedish label Freja Designs, the maxi cardigan is perfect for layering over tank tops or camisoles. Again, this piece is made of 100% Rayon and is extremely lightweight.

Nonetheless, don't be deceived by its sheer appearance. I threw it on on a rainy day and was surprised to discover that this featherlight number kept me relatively warm throughout the thunderstorm even when I was indoors with the air-conditioning at full blast.

    Jeans from Frame Denim
    Top and Sneakers from Korea

I have to admit the asymmetrical cascading sleeves first caught my eye but on the whole, I find its dark yet sensual design very attractive as it embraces femininity with an ample dose of edginess.

For this particular look, I paired it with my trusty Frame Denim ripped jeans to amp up the rocker chic vibe. I would have gone for heels but sensibility got the better of me, hence sneakers were the choice of footwear for a day of errands.

Aside from outerwear and scarves, Freja Designs also offer an exclusive collection of timeless jewellery that will never go out of style.

It was tough deciding on what to pick but I eventually chose a pair of stainless steel hoop earrings with black zirconia. Its understated glamour and versatility resonates with me and in addition to wearing this on casual weekends, I can definitely foresee that they'll be out with me on weekdays to the office or even for more formal occasions.

Mother's Day is just around the corner, and there would be no better way to celebrate this special day with your mum than to pamper her with a thoughtful gift, isn't it?

If you're wondering what to get for your mum this Mother's Day, you might just find the perfect gift at Noelgifts.

Importance of Gifting & Celebrating Mother's Day

My mum and I may be poles apart in terms of personality and character, but our love for each other (and our common love for shopping!) transcends all boundaries and binds us together.

Life hasn't been a bed of roses for her as she strives to juggle both work and family, often taking it upon herself and staying up late to complete her household responsibilities despite having to work the next day. Nonetheless, she has always been a fighter even in the face of challenges. She is our pillar of strength and she alone has kept the family together in hard times and adversity. That is why I always make it a point to celebrate Mother's Day with my mum and family to express our gratitude and appreciation for the most special woman in our lives.

A cozy celebration at our favourite restaurant is never complete without a surprise gift at the end of the meal. To be able to put a smile on my mum's face and see her eyes light up when she receives a gift she adores truly warms my heart and every year, I crack my brains thinking about what would make a good gift.

    Why Noelgifts?

I was pleasantly surprised by Noelgifts' plethora of gift options for Mother's Day. This year, they have gone one step further by bundling their gorgeous floral bouquets with practical gifts ranging from spa treats, hand creams, perfumes, cakes, organic tea, nourishing tonics to even jewellery!

There's something for every mum, whatever tickles her fancy.

Thanks to Noelgifts, I can now spring a surprise on my mum this Mother's Day with the click of a button, regardless of where I may be.

This is such an ingenious idea as it makes gift shopping not only thoughtful, but quick, convenient and absolutely fuss-free too!

Which gift am I picking for my mum?

My mum has a soft spot for jewellery, clothes and hand creams. As I just bought her a necklace for her birthday recently, I figured the Playful Elegance Gift Set which comes with a lovely bouquet accompanied by Crabtree & Evelyn's Pear and Pink Magnolia hand cream (100ml) and bath gel (250ml) would be a good gift for her this Mother's Day. My mum has been advocating the use of hand creams since I was in my teens and thanks to her golden words of wisdom, my hands have gotten smoother and softer over the years.

I'm sure the flowers in this gift set would perk up her day at the office, plus she can easily pop this handy hand cream into her handbag and keep her hands hydrated throughout the day!

Here's wishing my dear mum and all mothers a Happy Mother's Day in advance!

Clean, minimalist silhouettes are slowly taking over my wardrobe these days, but there are times when I crave for a more whimsical touch. Splashes of prints and bold colours, bags in unexpected shapes, shoes with wings...you get the drift. Challenging the status quo and what is considered the norm embodies the true essence of the whimsical style. It is all about breaking the rules and I love how it allows your imagination to take flight and venture far into the unknown.

A combination of quirky prints and whimsical elements never fails to create a statement and this makes it a style that is almost impossible to replicate. It is an expression of your individuality and I guess that is one of the reasons why I am inexplicably drawn to this style.

Today's outfit features a swan print dress from Ching with a detachable swan collar no less, paired with a Kate Spade Apple Bag (one of my perennial favourites) and my adorable gladiator heels from Sophia Webster.  You may find this outfit familiar if you follow me on instagram (@reginachow_sg) as I wore this ensemble to the recent Fashion Steps Out 2015 event.

If you think the whimsy style is a little too much for you, you can always go for a more monochromatic palette. In this case, black and white take center stage while red accents punctuate the outfit and inject a dash of fun.Alternatively, go slow and perhaps begin by adding a kitschy statement bag to your wardrobe for a start. It is bound to be a conversation starter and I can assure you there's no turning back!

What's your take on the whimsical style? Do you like it as much as I do?

As always, thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful long weekend!
